Lugano is a family-owned company with deep roots in Gramado, in the Serra Gaúcha. Since the beginning, our mission has been to bring the magic of artisan chocolate to more and more people, preserving tradition and care at every stage of the process.

2016
We celebrated our 40th anniversary with a range of 300 products, 500 items for sale, 170 employees and a production capacity of 35 tons/month.
2015
We opened the Chocolate World, the first chocolate park in the Americas, with more than 200 pieces sculpted from solid chocolate.
1992
Transfer to the new factory, adopting the use of revolutionary computers and supplying chocolates to hotel chains and airlines.
1976
Founded in Gramado on September 26, our Lugano chocolate factory was named after the Swiss town of the same name, located in the Italian canton of the country, also a tribute to the origins of founder Lauri Casagrande.
2022
Gramado is crowned the National Capital of Handmade Chocolate. We update our visual identity and the façade of our 1st store, reaching 60 tons of chocolate per month and 220 stores across the country.
2018
Opening of the first store in São Paulo, at Pão de Açúcar, and start of the franchise system, with the first store in Balneário Camboriú/SC.
2014
We began licensing the brand for national expansion, with stores all over Brazil.
2013
We opened two new stores in Gramado, incorporated Aurich Liquors and launched the Le Chef Gourmet space on Gramado Boulevard.
2008
Founding of Rasen Bier, a brewery that is part of the group with a production capacity of 150,000 liters/month.
2007
We opened the third store in Gramado and faced the death of Renaldo Schwingel, who left a legacy of love for chocolate making.
2001
We acquired our first chocolate-making machine, allowing total control over production and increasing the percentage of cocoa in milk chocolate to 36%.
1999
Start of the self-service store concept, increasing sales by 40%.
1994
Pioneering in the production of chocolate “figures”, such as the Kikito, inspired by a trip to France and Belgium, with shapes acquired in various designs.
1985
Renaldo Schwingel acquires the company, tripling the number of employees and increasing chocolate production to 2 tons/month in five years.
2023
The Chocolate World becomes Mundo Lugano, a park in the center of Gramado with games, circus shows, a playground, bowling, gastronomy, a bar and a themed pizzeria.
